Wetherspoons offer catering and hospitality jobs
for students
Pub chain JD Wetherspoon is creating up to 1,000
hospitality and catering jobs for students aged
between 16 and 17.
The move will open up a career in the
hospitality and catering industry to young
school leavers, and the group are also offering
NVQs as part of the recruitment incentive. This
will include the option of completing a diploma
and honours degree if they progress to a
management position.
A
range of positions are on offer, including
front-of-house – such as serving customers
coffee and food, and clearing tables - along
with catering work in the kitchen. Head of
personnel and training at Wetherspoons, Mandy
Ferries, said:
"We believe that many school leavers will
welcome the opportunity to work for Wetherspoon.
We can offer them the chance to study as part of
their work as well as progress within the
company."
The scheme has been widely praised in the
industry and is expected to provide an excellent
opportunity for school leavers looking to learn
more and become qualified in the catering and
hospitality sector.
Students and school-leavers who want to further
their career or gain additional experience in
catering or hospitality can contact rd
resourcing to enquire about shifts in a wide
range of roles, including bar work, catering,
front-of-house, and many more.
