rd resourcing continue support of Children
with Leukaemia

Hospitality recruitment specialist rd resourcing
has pledged to continue its support of
children's cancer charity, Children with
Leukaemia, throughout 2011.
For every permanent position filled by rd
resourcing, 5% of the fee will be donated to
Children with Leukaemia throughout the year,
which will help to fund much-needed research
into causes and treatments whilst supporting
families in their time of need.
In
April, rd resourcing founder and MD Richard
Disney will also run the London Marathon for the
charity, having pledged to raise over £2,000 by
completing the event.
But preparing for the marathon has not been
easy, as Richard explains.
"In February this year I ran the Portsmouth half
marathon, my logic was that I would find this
pretty tough and give myself a scare and
increase the training - it worked!" he said.
"I
have been training as much as time allows,
normally when my 2 year old son, Jack, has gone
to bed in the evening. It has been pretty dark
and wet out there and if I get through to the
big day without a twisted ankle it will be a
miracle."
On
a recent holiday to Lanzarote with family and
friends, Richard kept up the training by going
running every morning and even jogged up a
volcano in 20° heat.
There is now less than four weeks to go until
April 17th, but one decision remains to be made.
"I had planned to run the marathon in a full
waiters' uniform, on behalf of all our fantastic
staff at rd resourcing," said Richard. "However
it is now becoming highly likely that, due to a
side bet, I will be dressed as a French Maid.
Either way I promise to wear a smile."
