rd resourcing staff member comes to the rescue on raceday
Ben Foot,
a staff member who was working at a racecourse event for
RD Resourcing recently, has been praised for his quick
thinking during an incident that happened during his
shift.
Whilst
working in the restaurant at the venue in Berkshire, a
seated customer began to have breathing difficulties and
it soon became apparent that she was choking.
A number
of customers tried to clear the blockage but were unable
to help. Quick-thinking Ben arrived on the scene and
used the abdominal thrust - also known as the Heimlich
manoeuvre - and the blockage was immediately cleared.
Ben, who
completed his first aid course less than 6 months ago,
was given a bottle of champagne by the racecourse
organisers for his trouble.
RD
Resourcing Office Manager Jen Evans said:
"Well done to Ben – his courage saved a woman's life,"
adding, "Now there's a handy guy to have around!" |
