Catering
firm back on track
Global
catering firm Compass has reported a 14% rise in its
half-year profits, suggesting that the company is now
back on track following its fall from grace several
years ago. The fall happened when celebrity chef Jamie
Oliver blasted the firm for the poor quality of its
school meals.
Today,
Compass is perhaps best known for running catering at
Chelsea Football Club, Wimbledon tennis championships,
and events at the 02 arena.
Chief
executive Richard Cousins said that the "reputational
issues of some years back are resolved and are not
something that bother us now."
The
catering form reportedly employs 386,000 people
worldwide and serves in excess of 4 billion meals every
year. |
