Benefits
shake-up is good news for hospitality and catering
recruitment
News of a
proposed government shake-up of the existing benefits
system has been welcomed by hospitality and
catering recruiters,
who believe that the move will help get more people into
work.
Work and
Pension Secretary Iain Duncan Smith has announced that
the system will be simplified, so that it will "always
pay" - leaving workers better off than if they remain on
benefits.
It is
expected that the move will enable more options for
parents who wish to work part-time, especially for
single parents, allowing greater flexibility in working
hours.
This will
in turn benefit employers who require more flexibility
from their employees.
Concerns
have been raised as to the number of jobs available, and
for people that simply cannot find work, whether they
will be given the necessary support.
However,
the plans are expected to incentivise individuals to get
back into work, which could result in more people taking
temporary work or filling part-time positions until more
permanent roles can be found.
rd
resourcing offers temporary, part-time and permanent
full-time work in
catering and hospitality.
Individuals looking to work in the industry are urged to
contact the team for more details, and to register their
interest for work.
