Chef jobs with rd resourcing
We
have a range of chef jobs available for all
skill levels. Whether you're looking for a head
chef job, commis chef job or a sous chef job,
we're confident that we'll find the right role
for you. We have both temporary and permanent
work available.
Head chef
The head chef, or executive chef as they are
sometimes known, is the person that is in charge
of the kitchen and is responsible for everything
from menu creation and kitchen management right
through to scheduling and payroll. In some
kitchens there will be another person who works
with or above the head chef and who makes
decisions on certain formalities.
Sous chef
A sous chef is an assistant of the head chef,
and is usually second in command. Directly
translated, sous chef means "under chef" of the
kitchen. They are normally responsible for
kitchen tasks such as scheduling, and will fill
in for the head chef when they are unavailable.
Commis chef
A commis chef is usually an apprentice in larger
kitchens, and answers to a chef de partie to
learn the station's responsibilities and
operation. The commis chef has often recently
completed formal culinary training or is still
undergoing training.
